The Arnprior Community Policing Committee in conjunction with the Arnprior local business provides a service called "Medi-Vial". The program was developed to make important medical information available to EMS in the event that a person is unconscious or unable to communicate. Here is a explaination the program:
"The Medi-Vialprogram is designed to make patient information easily accessible in one centralized location of the home - - the refrigerator. Why?? Refrigerators are common to every household and can be easily located in an emergency.
The aim of the Medi-Vial program is to help fire fighters and paramedics on the scene of an emergency by cutting down on the amount of time spent searching for basic medical and prescription information. Having this information easily accessible will also save time for emergency room and hospital personnel and facilitate the care process. "
The Arnprior Community Policing Committee helps to promote
this program by handing out vials to local seniors groups and at
community events. If you would like to obtain any vials for yourself or
your loved one's, feel free to stop by the Arnprior Community Policing
office in the Arnprior Shopping Centre.When they are ready.
